The tap cycle is the whole interaction model: tap a variant to cycle it: nothing → ✓ found → 👑 mastered → back to nothing. Hold (or right-click on desktop) to flag a variant 👻 lost. Lost is an overlay, not a delete: your found/mastered records stay underneath, so tapping a lost variant re-finds it and the crown comes back.
The tap cycle is the whole interaction model:
Each Fortnite season brings its own set of sprites, and the tracker keeps every season's progress. The grid defaults to the current season; the season picker in the Filters bar switches to another one (seasons are named the way Fortnite names them — C7S4 is Chapter 7 Season 4). Switching only changes what's shown; nothing you've marked in another season is touched.

Your header stats follow the selected season, and so does Share— so "what I'm missing" means missing from the season you're looking at, not from every season ever.
Friends work the same way: the stats on the Friends page are for the current season only, the Leaderboard defaults to the current season with an All time option, and Compare has its own season picker.
Right after a season changes, the grid can show "New sprites are being added for this season — check back soon!" until the new sprites are in. Last season is still one pick away in the season picker.
By default nothing leaves your browser. Your progress lives in this browser's local storage. It is not sent anywhere and cannot be seen by anyone else. Clearing your browser data erases it, and it does not follow you to another device or another browser. Sign in from the header with Continue with fnvault. It creates a free fnvault account, or signs you in if you already have one.

Sign in from the header with Continue with fnvault (see Accounts). It creates a free fnvault account, or signs you in if you already have one. Older sign-ins made with an emailed link still work — see Older email-link sign-ins under Accounts.
What happens the moment you sign in: your device's progress and whatever is already in the cloud are merged, and for any variant marked in both places the earlier timestamp wins — the first time you marked it, on any device. The merged result is then uploaded. Nothing is overwritten or lost by signing in; the first time you ever sign in the cloud side is simply empty, so your local progress is what gets uploaded.
After that, every change you make is pushed up automatically about a second after you stop tapping. The coloured dot next to your email is the status: green synced, amber pulsing syncing, red the last push failed (it retries on your next change).
Signing in as a different person: if you still have an older email-link session as one email and then continue with fnvault as a different email, everything pauses and asks first. You choose Switch to the fnvault account or Stay signed in. Nothing is deleted and the two accounts' collections are never merged into each other — each keeps its own.
Disconnect fnvault only signs this browser out of fnvault. It does not sign out an older email-link session, does not touch your collection, and does not unlink anything — continuing with fnvault again later reconnects you to the same data.
fnvault account (Continue with fnvault) is the sign-in: cross-device sync of your collection, plus friends, the friends leaderboard, compare, and friend messages. It's a real account with its own password, shared with fnvault.app — one login for both sites.

Older email-link sign-ins: this site used to offer a magic link emailed to you (no password). New sign-ins no longer use it, but if you signed in that way earlier and are still signed in, it keeps working and keeps syncing. The friend features check only the fnvault sign-in, which is why an email-link user can be signed in and still see "Add friends with a free fnvault account". You'll also see a one-time, dismissible Link an fnvault account note in the header — linking is how you keep access to your collection long term.
Upgrading:if you're signed in with an older email link you'll see an Upgrade to a free fnvault accountcard — on the tracker home page just above the Buy Me a Coffee button, and on the Friends, Leaderboard and Compare pages when they ask you to sign in. It takes you to fnvault's create-account page — sign up there with the same email you use here and your collection carries over automatically (same email = same account = same collection). Using a different email instead triggers the "switch account?" question described in Cloud sync — nothing is merged or lost either way.
"Reconnect your fnvault account to use friends": an older fnvault sign-in from before friends existed. Signing in with fnvault again from the header fixes it.
Your friend code looks like SPRT-XXXX and lives at the top of the Friends page. Copy it and give it to a friend; paste theirs into Add a friend and hit Send Request. The other person sees your request in their 🔔 notification bell and you become friends when they accept.

Compare on a friend row opens a variant-by-variant grid for that one friend. Each released sprite in the selected season gets a row, and each variant that sprite actually has gets one chip pair: your status on the left, theirs on the right.

Each released sprite in the selected season gets a row, and each variant that sprite actually has gets one chip pair: your status on the left, theirs on the right. The season picker beside the heading defaults to the current season and can show any other.
Yourside is read live from this device, so it always matches what you're looking at elsewhere in the app right now — and it's editable right here: tap it to cycle found → mastered → clear, or hold (touch) / right-click (mouse) to flag it lost, exactly like the chips on your main tracker grid. Theirside is read-only — it's their last synced progress.
Each side reads as one of: 👻 lost, 👑 mastered, ✓ found, or missing — and lost wins over everything. A variant you mastered and later lost shows as lost, not mastered, because lost is what's true right now.
The rings are the "who has the edge" marker: a violet ring means only you currently hold it, a light ring means only they do. A lost variant counts as not currently held on either side.
The line above the grid totals it up: how many variants only you have, how many only they have, and how many you both have.
Compare only works with an accepted friend. Anyone else — a stranger, or a request still pending — shows "Not in your friends list".
The leaderboard is friends-only: you and your accepted friends, never a global ranking. Score = 1 point per variant you've found, plus 2 more for every variant you've mastered. A mastered variant is therefore worth 3, because a mastered variant is also a found one.

Scoring counts variants, not whole sprites — the same way the tracker's own header stats do.
By default only the current season's sprites are scored — the same scope as the Friends page stats — and the season is named under the heading. The picker beside the heading switches to All time, which scores every season's sprites. Your earlier seasons aren't lost either way; they're just not part of this season's race unless you ask for all time.
Equal scores are ordered alphabetically by name. Your row is badged You.
Each row also shows the raw "N found · M mastered" behind the score, so the number is never a black box.
Messages live in the 🔔 bell in the header. You can message any accepted friend — either press 💬 on their row on the Friends page, or open the bell and pick the conversation. It's a real conversation, not a one-shot note: each friend has a full scrollable history with a reply box, and a back arrow returns you to the list.

It's a real conversation, not a one-shot note: each friend has a full scrollable history with a reply box, and a back arrow returns you to the list.
The number on the bell is one combined count — operator replies, pending friend requests, and unread friend messages all add into it (it caps the display at 9+).
Opening the bell does not clear friend requests or unread message badges — a request stays counted until you actually accept or decline it, and a conversation is marked read only when you open that conversation.
New messages and requests are checked about every 30 seconds while the tab is open, and immediately when you come back to the tab. It is not instant push, so a reply can take a moment to appear.
There's a rate limit of 30 messages per 10 minutes, messages can't be edited or deleted, and removing a friend ends the ability to message each other.
Replies from us about a sprite you reported show up in the bell whether you signed in by magic link or with fnvault. The one thing that has to be true first: you need to be signed in when you send the report. A report sent while fully signed out has no account attached, so there's nowhere for a reply to land.

Updated for Chapter 7 Season 4 — August 20, 2026
Sprite Tracker is a free tool for tracking your Fortnite sprite collection. Sprites are the collectible companions introduced in Chapter 7 — each one has its own passive ability, and each comes in several variant editions. This season (Chapter 7 Season 4) the tracker covers 19 released sprites and 74 collectible variants, including Gold, Cheat Master, Loot Hacker and Bounty Hunter — and every past season stays tracked via the season picker.
Tap a variant to mark it found, tap again to mark it mastered, or hold to flag one you've lost — the tracker then shows how much Sprite Dust it would cost to summon your lost variants back. Your progress is saved in your browser automatically; signing in is optional and only needed to sync across devices.
Browse every past season and every special variant family in the Sprite Archive.
